Thank you soooo much to my partner for taking up all the Waltz and Foxtrot so as to free me from teaching until mid-Nov. V.Waltz and Q.Step will be mine, this is a promise. xx
Well, I have been asked to show more feelings, more emotion; and yes I know I should dance with the sense; and yes I am trying all the best to express sensuality; but yet, I can't regard it a compliment being associated with high class prostitutes.
Josipovic quoted “dancers' sexiness is similar to high class prostitutes”, and he further explained that the way sensuality works with touch is OUT-IN-OUT. Being touched triggers our senses and urges us project our sensuality from inside, which translates the sensory experience into sensual movement, giving a mesmerizing quality to the dance. However, sensuality in dancing goes beyond just sensing- good dancers initial an impulse touch and vary the movement qualities so as to intensify the expression.
To achieve such, we need to be transcendental. We need to observe the sense in ourselves. We also need to get into the music if we want to express better because the music shape our movements. On beat is important but if we stick to the rhythm and forget about musicality, then where is the sensuality? Open up the heart and handover the inner self to the partner- feel the tangible and intangible touches from the partner and reciprocate with all our senses. The connection and the tension would be influential.
We are sexy, not only because of our costumes that obviously impress every audience, but also because of our intensive expression. We are sexual because we go beyond the explicit display of sexuality. The quality of my sexiness is actually part of me so it emanates like the natural aroma.
So, don't relate me to a merely sexy girl.
