1. chaine turn (chaine turn is not only for ballet and jazz, also in Latin, Rhythms and Night Club dances)
2. three step turn (used in all International Latin dances and American Rhythms)
3. paddle turn (paddle turn is commonly used in C/W Line dancing)
4. spiral turn (spiral turn is used in all 5 of the International Latin dances)
5. switch turn (basically spot turn, particularly in Rumba and Cha Cha Cha)
6. spin (in every dance genre)
7. simple spin (particularly in jive)
8. forward walk turn, alemana turn (alemana turn is syllabus figure in both R & CCC, but fwd walk turn itself is used in all International Latin dances)
9. pivot turn (C/W Line & Ballroom)
10. heel turn (usually known in foxtrot, but also in Paso Doble)
11. twist turn (C/W Line and Latin Jazz)
