If you need to ask what
a spin is, you can check it from the Dance Glossary here. It's
quite clear that a spin is a turn on the ball of one foot; a multiple
spin is more than one full turn on the ball of one foot.
In Latin Dancing, we have the torsque shape as the prep to help give the momentum. But this shaping usually does not take a beat, its value is as little as an 'a' (quarter) beat, and less is even finer, so it should be subtle during actual performance.

After the initial
momentum has gone, you can either stop or gain momentum again to keep
yourself spinning. In case you need to keep spinning, the torsque
shaping and spotting are necessary. Either stopping or keeping
spinning, the one big thing you should avoid is to tumble like a
roly-poly.
In order to stay
controlled during the spins, you should tuck the tummy in, lift
yourself up, keep upright posture, keep your legs together, and
straighten your legs. Regarding the straightened legs, there is an
issue for Salsa dancers, which will be discussed in part 4 next week.
Good luck with your dancing, maybe you can also check here to see the Dance Glossary.
