Many may wonder how the same Cuban hip action can be applied to all different dances, however, they are really the same. The differences mainly come from the musical characteristics, e.g. slow enough to settle the hip and give the fullest of the action, or too fast that the hip can't go to the greatest extend, incorporating a bounce or hip swing so it does not only goes figure eight, etc.
This short video shows you the Rumba hip first, and use this as the basis to develop into Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Jive, Mambo/Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Lambada hip actions. They do not look the same, but the mechanism behind is the same. This makes a wonder, dancing is just amazing.
