We know that there are quite a number of styles under the broad term of street dance (check here if you want to know more, or check here if you want to learn the moves), seriously, overly baggy may become clumsy, but what to wear for different styles?
I have recently read a book and got inspired!

Footwear
Classic sneakers, or if you haven't any of them, sports shoes that support you will be good.
Sneakers or Hush Puppies
In the old days usually two-tone shoes, but now sneakers are just as common.
Timberland and/or Dr. Martin's have been common since 1990s. Sneakers are more likely recently.
Any form of footwear.
Clothing
Ensure you to move around, so tracksuit bottoms, loose-fitting jeans, jeans with stretch, or long loose shorts. Simple top like a T-shirt, sweatshirt, or tracksuit top.
Anything that allows freedom of movement but still clearly show the moves you are doing. Loose, baggy jeans or trousers. Traditionally loose-fitting dress shirt or a jacket but now more likely a loose long -sleeved T-shirt.
Lockers wear the most extravagant outfits of the street dance- black and white hoop-stripped T-shirt and socks! Also hoop-stripped socks, pantaloons to the knee, britche with braces!
Loose jeans, big throwback American-basketball or football jerseys, dungarees
Very baggy clothes- loose-fitting jeans and long-sleeved loose T-shirt traditionally. Now whatever comfortable is the dress core.
Headwear
Old school is still cool with a kangol cap, but any cap or a headspin beanie will do.
No spinning here so anything from trilby hats to bowlers and caps.
Newsboy/barrowboy hats or large-brim Havanas.
Flat-top hair do in the old days, but now a cap is just fine.
The emphasis is on clothes that allow ease of movement and flow.
