Twist in Pulp Fiction

When the worst situation brought by COVID19 slowly resides, dance clients finally come back.

One of the dance enquiries I got has been the Pulp Fiction routine.

The routine itself is not hard. Let's see the breaking down of the movie routine.

Twist

Twist with the leaning backward/forward action

Man's tapping

Lady's drumming hands

Marching in strong CMP

Swimming

A-go-go

Drumming hands

Twisting the upper body

Walking fwd/bck with hip/arms actions

The routine is easy, however, to dance it like in the movie is not easy.

For instance, the twist itself is already a problem. The twist is to move the hips forward and backward, at the same time doing the knee drop. The knee actually is natural if the weight distribution and the waist action are both correct.

Put all weight on one foot, then relax the non-supporting foot and knee. Now in this position, move the hip of the unweighted side forward, the relaxed knee will then be brought to a knee-drop. Then, move that hip of the unweighted side back, the relaxed knee will be set to original position.

The only technique in the twist is separation in correct weight distribution.

That sounds easy!

However, the problem for most people is to separation their bodies!
