Figures, why should we know their names

*Diana is having competitions! We will all go and CHEEEEEEEEEEEER*

I didn't expect to see her, we were doing huit, and suddenly the door was open and she came in! Yanhou TC jianjiao, wojiuyizhi dangzhe ta. Haogaoxing! Douniu de nanren yinggai shi han youli de, keshi wo juede KJ bingmeiyou xiangxiangzhong de youli. Fanershi Diana bijiao hao. Comparatively speaking, gen Ed tiao de ganjue shi zuihao de; jiezhe shi Diana, zuihou shi KJ. Keshi lilunshang yinggai shi KJ jiao Diana haode, shenmeshuo tayeshi yige fellow ma!

When we were talking about the names of the figures, KJ said we all need to remember the names, I definitely agreed. Diana said if she hadn't needed to pass the prof exam she wouldn't have to remember those. I then said if we don't know the names how one can practise dancing. 'You only need to dance. The man will lead.' oh that's our problem, we don't have a practicing partner, nor we have a personal instructor, when we need to practise on our own and check the correctness, probably we'll have to consult our textbook. That's my point, if we don't know the names then we can't do anything with our best 'consultant'.

I think it's important to learn how to follow, but if you want to dance well, it's better to learn all the names as well. Knowing every term will only benefit the dancer by giving her a better condition when she needs to learn from the others. If there's a chance to talk with great dancer, conversing with terms is more common than saying turn this and that and doing a figure I with a name I can't remember... To a serious dancer, knowing more about dancing can never be a burden. I like to talk in specific terms, because then I can communicate with KJ or Ed better. In this way, I learn more.
