This blog entry is written specifically for the ISTD Associate Examination for Country Western Line Dances.
Still, we are talking about Part Two, which is all around the own choice.
Apart from the mentioned adaptations in the last entry, more importantly, the introduction of basic knowledge of floorcraft and Dance Floor Etiquette (page 5 of Guidance Notes) should not be overlooked.
Just imagine this situation then you'll understand why floorcraft is necessary. If a group of line dancers go dancing in the outer circle, couples who are doing progressive dances like Waltz will definitely crash into the line dancers.
Also, forming several lines instead of one single long long line in the centre ofthe dance floor can also help better dancing environment. The one single long line can be very disturbing.
Other dance floor etiquette like not to carry a drink or lighted cigarette,or eear spurs on the floor. Or standing and blocking the 'traffic flow' and socializing there.
The above are help to prevent dangers. However, on the other hand, injury prevention can also be achieved by havig proper training (jump/turn/kicks techniques, accurate postures, good use of body parts), and wearing proper gears (cloths and shoes).
Of course, attending a good dance school is absolutely a perfect idea!
