Anyway, I can understand that dancing is a lot of fun and a lot of people from different age groups would love to dance. Dance lovers like me have a lot of dancing and we think we are really cool! But one day, we might find our feet feel differently, what could that mean? Dance Injuries!!
That's why before we start to dance, we are told that we need to have proper dance shoes- too much stomping on hard floor surfaces can cause stree fractures to the small bones in the feet, unsuitable footwear can make it worse! Therefore, at the days when we were trained to be a dance teacher, we were told to mind particularly to the age groups who could unknowingly already be suffering from osteoporosis, or those who are too young that bones are not fully developed.
If you love dancing and want to dance as many years as you wish, the best way is to have proper training, find a good (and qualified) teacher. Good stance and deportment, careful and well placed use of feet/ legs/ arms etc, correct technique on jumps/ kicks/ turns etc, can really help you from getting hurt.
Aiya, good luck to those self-learners! I mean it, self-learning is not easy, I self-learned a lot alongside my regular training. Media power is so great these days that it becomes a shame if you are not self-learning something. I mean, apart from the youtube, make sure you have enough knowledge to know what is ok and what is not.
