Dance practice at home gets harder...

We know frequent practicing is important, in fact essential, in order to develop or to advance dance skills; however, how many of us can really keep doing the daily practice at home ourselves, without external pressure?

Bear in mind that, I said, no external pressure. It's too easy to do any kinds and every kind of practices, from stretching, to rhythmic awareness, to individual figure neatness, when there are normal dance class schedules. However, since the COVID 19, the classes have all been suspended. When it is not a must to regularly go to the studio, people like me who always claim to have strong self discipline, find it quite hard to get regular practice at home.

The biggest obstacle is space. As studios are all closed, I can only do dancing at home, where there is very limited space. At first, I was pretty enthusiastic, and tried to film myself so that afterwards I could examine my own weaknesses and specifically correct them. However, after only 2 weeks, it's getting harder to retain the regular practice. You can't imagine, the first came to complaint was from my own family- I occupied too much space for too long time (2 hours and more than half of the sitting room)!

You know, when the whole family needs to work / school at home, space is a scarcity! When I set my tripod at the sitting room, and framed the space I needed for practicing, there's actually leaving no moving area for the others.

Alright, as a result, I got to limit myself to practise within a 2ft X 2ft area! From then on practicing ballroom smooth at home began a dream- I mean I abandoned this idea completely 😂
