The delaying of ISTD Dance Exam had been expected, and as time passed the Exam date was now next Nov, which is the time that we expect the examiners will be flying in person.
The exam has been postponed too many times, from the Feb, to Aug, to Oct, to Mar next year. And when we thought it would be settled in Mar 2021, we got the news that there were mutated cases found in the UK. So we were told that we needed to reschedule it again.
We had two options,
1, to have it next May online;
2, to have it next Nov, hopefully it will be the time everything resume normal.
Personally I prefer having it sooner. The gap from the original time to next Nov is long, in fact too long.
You may say that this is a good long time for keen learners to practise more, or to study more. You know the syllabus is not that easy, and the study notes are quite a lot, more time to study sounds a great news. However, due to inertia, the pressure from Exam has already faded.
We might feel lucky to have more time to prepare the first time it was rescheduled, however, when the rescheduling repeated for so many times, the patience was drained.
It is quite uncommon to keep working hard for such a long time (a year!), and the worst is, there are no longer any classes for refreshing, for practising, or for learning, because it is too dangerous to stay in a crowded studio that all classes are suspended.
The only result we now have is, memory starts to fade, skills begins to degrades.
Actually there is another option, which is to have it online in May. But... not enough votes for this options!
Let's wish we can have our exam next Nov as rescheduled. Oh this is my Xmas wish.
