A basic Waltz is hard to do

Waltz is one of the most popular choices when couples get to do first dances, mostly because the elegant look it presents, and the easy pattern it itself has. 

The waltz, if danced nicely, can be very spectacular and graceful, even the whole routine only consists of the basic figures. And this is what couples want to have on their big day- learning a watchable waltz is doable in as short as 4 hours. 

However, only doing the basic pattern would not make the dance graceful, the precondition for a beautiful waltz is not stepping towards different directions with either left foot or right foot, you need footwork (toe, heel, flat, inside edge), rise and fall, sway and most importantly a proper frame. 

And this is also a problem for complete beginners, all these preconditions are much more difficult to achieve than learning the steps.
