Anyone who is really really into dancing will find performing enjoyable, could be tough but you will definitely enjoy the whole thing, from the practice, rehearsal, dressing up, making up, to the stage moment and the applause. We love all these, because we use our heart.
However, I think the thing that really touch us is not to express the music (well, it still has to but this is not the major part), our heart, in this case, is used to show off. Showing off all our technique, flaunting our beauty, and if we are not we try hard to beautify us. There is an attempt to lure the audience. If we don't think we are seducing them we won't be successful as performers.
How to use our heart to show off? First we need to know what the audience want- Any event theme? If so we need to start with the dress code, then design the dance genre that fits the best. And we need to also know whether audience interaction is expected. We can even if they don't expect it, but we need to anticipate how willingly will they be.
And we need to stay alert with the audience's feedback. Their reaction can guide you what to do on the spot, and also a beacon light for the future shows. Therefore, the heart in a performance is mostly not on the partner, or the song, it's the audience.
When we get the look, and we get the atmosphere, we are just a ste to a successful show, but of course, the most important thing is your dancing. Looking doesn't mean the dance itself is good. Having a sound and solid technical ground is nevertheless the most important.
