There are two Tango- the Argentine Tango and the Ballroom Tango. They are obviously not the same.
The Ballroom Tango way of walking is slightly different from the way of other Balloroom dances, mainly because of the frame. Since Ballroom Tango has a much longer touching area, the starting from the core down to the upper thighs, this pose require a much stronger CBM. During dancing, the couple needs to move without losing this contact zone, then there will. be a need for them to lower the centre of gravity. However, the HT footwork still applies.
The Argentine Tango is a very distinguishable dance. It clearly is not classed as Ballroom dancing, neither is it classed as Latin dancing. But interestingly, the Argenrine Tango way of walking is more like the Latin way of walking, with footwork TH dominates. Different from the Latin dances, where couples keep a reasonable distance in closed hold, the bodies have no contact at all; the dancers in Argentine Tango have the embraced hold with the upper bodies. tightly prressed towards each other. Also thebarms look more casual than that in the Ballroom Tango.
