Not to join a wedding dance class

There's such a YouTube video, I love this video, I need to give a thumb-up.

They've really got the good reasons, however, I still believe that taking a wedding dance class to learn some routine is fine.

Let's see what they say.
Reason 1, too much memorisation. Can't agree with it anymore. For a complete beginner, a simple routine looks simple but actually not. If you need force yourself to keep reciting something on your big day, I think you wont enjoy it anymore.

Oh yes, as the saying goes 'Practice makes perfect!' Haven't you heard that before?

Reason 2, screw up become big fails. Wow, sure, if you are not used to dancing, and suddenly you need to do it in front of like 100+ people, it takes a great heart not to get panic, so it's easy to get a conclusion that screw ups seems to be a likely result.

Absolutely right! That's why you need to have classes, and also the reasons why you coach keep telling you that you need to practice, and over-practice before your show, so that your move can move automatically when you lost you way.

Reason 3, lack of authenticity. How can you be authentic when you can't concentrate on the dance but keep thinking about the next steps? No connection at all between the partners!

True! No practiced routines can be authentic. If it is so, that's not a routine, it's improvisation. In fact, only in just few social occasions like when we dance with strangers we can have authentic dancing. Under most circumstances, we consciously or unconsciously dance programmed pieces. You know, our body remember the daily practice so even when you are not intended to, your body will move as how you do with your partner once you take up your partner's hand.

Lastly, I need to say, if you have enough time, it's still good to enroll for a wedding dance class. Who doesn't want a beautifully presented choreography on your most memorable day? It's just that if you have time, practice your 'basic' instead of practice your 'routine' is a much better idea.

Really, thumb-up for this video!
