Getting to know the Line Dancing Actions and Steps (part 10)- Knee Dip, Knee Pop and the Camel Walk

kandykane in class

There are a few actions relating to the knees, the Knee Dip, the Knee Pop and the Camel Walk (mind that this is not the Camel Walk in Belling Dancing)

The definition of knee dip is very simple. The Knee Dip or just called Dip is to slightly bend the weighted knee or knees, that also means weight can be put on only one foot or both feet.

On the other hand, the Knee Pop is more in details. It is to bend the weighted knee or knees (in this case the weight should be evenly distributed) so the heel(s) are lifted, then return the heel(s) to floor. Another way to do is to bend the knee across in front of the weighted leg in single knee pop.

The Camel is quite like a stroke in some sense. It consists of a knee pop and a forward step- right after the knee pop, returning the heel of the popping leg, then step forward with the free leg whilst keeping the knee straight.
