Jump |
The difference between a jump and a hop would be easy to understand, a jump takes off and lands with both feet, flex the knee before and after elevation; while a hop means to jump into the air with one foot and land on same foot.
A jazz jump is to jump on one foot but land on both.
A jumping jack is to land feet apart or together, and a turn can be incorporated afterwards to become a jump jack turn.
The above usually take place on the same spot, although it is also possible to have progression. However, a leap is to jump on either one but land on the other one, it definitely progresses forward.
Another very similar moves is the switch. A switch also involves changing feet, but it's a one-count movement without progression.
