Let's take a look at some one beat actions before the test.
The first one is the Scuff- move the foot forward with heel striking against the floor. It makes a loud sound in just one beat.
The Chug (Shunt) is another one beat action. Your feet remain in contact with the floor but just lift heels slightly and shift both feet forward with shunting action. Feet can either be together or apart. To differentiate it from the Scuff is easy because the Scuff needs to be executed by lifting one foot up in order to make a step forward.
The Scoot looks more similar to the Chug. The Scoot associates with a kick. One needs to kick the unweighted foot forward while momentum slides weighted foot forward. It is similar to the Chug as the foot that keeps contacting the floor is motioned by the body's action; only that in Chug the motion comes from the whole body, but in Scoot the motion comes from the kicking action.
